An Artist View

Growing into the artist I set myself out to be has involved not only refining skills and techniques, but also navigating complex relationship between creativity and mental health. My journey with self-expression through art has and always will be therapeutic. Using paint to help process my emotions or drawing to cope with stress and find clarity.

However, with the growth there will be daily challenges. Such as self-doubt, perfectionism, or the procrastination of creating. Over the years I have learned to embrace my vulnerability and make art out of my mental health struggles. Allowing the experiences to deepen my work and give a relatable effect.

This balance of growth , self-care, and expression is leading to a more authentic artistic inner voice and a healthier relationship with one’s mental well-being. It’s crazy what you can discover about yourself after years of not knowing.
